How to Unlock the Door of a Maytag Neptune

It's happened to everyone. You load the laundry into the washing machine, add the detergent, set the wash cycle and start the machine. Just before you walk away you spot a sock that didn't make it into the machine. You try to open the washing machine door only to find it's locked. While you're happy that your Maytag Neptune has this safety feature, you can't help but think about how your sock drawer is going to be unbalanced this week. Luckily, Maytag designed the Neptune so you can unlock the door and add or remove laundry.

Instructions

1. Press the "Start/Pause" button on the washing machine control panel. The machine will pause the wash cycle and stop operation.

2. Wait for the machine to stop spinning and for the "Door Lock" indicator to turn off.

3. Open the door and add the additional laundry.

4. Close the door and press "Start/Pause" to resume the wash cycle. As a safety feature, the wash cycle will stay paused for an additional 30 seconds before the machine starts running again.
