How to Keep Deer Away From Fruit Trees
Deer are beautiful creatures, and many enjoy looking at them and even having them as guests in their yards on occasion. However, the image of these sweet, woodland animals soon sours when they help themselves to our flowers, vegetables and trees. Deer can annihilate an entire orchard over night. It is possible to settle this peacefully and keep them from destroying your crops without destroying the deer. Does this Spark an idea?

Place wolf urine at the base of your trees. Wolves are predators to deer, and their scent will likely scare them away. Wolf urine is widely available at most garden centers. The only downside to using it is the odor.

Take some glass bottles and make a mobile. Plastic can also be effective if it is thick. You want a mobile that will make noise. Deer are timid creatures and can be scared of easily.

Tie up some tin pans and around your trees. These will frighten deer and birds. The deer will see their reflection and get scared away.

Place human hair around your trees. You can save up your own, but a local barber or salon will likely have bags of it that they are more than happy to give away. The hair will retain the human scent. Deer have an incredible sense of smell. Once they detect the human scent, they will run away.

Place chicken manure around your trees. Deer hate the smell and will stay away. Chicken manure is available at most garden centers. It also makes an excellent fertilizer for your trees.

Tips & Warnings
It is OK to try a combination of these methods. None of them will harm the deer; they'll just deter the deer from your garden or orchard.
Never use traps, poisons or weapons to stop the deer. It is illegal in most instances, and you could be arrested for animal cruelty. Deer will not attack only trees that are bearing fruit. They will be just as happy to eat the leaves and blossoms.
