Instructions

    • 1

Measure the top of your bathroom mirror using a tape measure. Then measure half-way down both sides of the mirror.

    • 2

Total these measurements and add a few more inches. This allows you to have enough fabric to droop down, which creates the swag effect. The fabric width should be between 24 and 36 inches, depending on the size of your mirror. A bigger mirror can handle more width than a smaller mirror.

    • 3

Purchase the type of fabric you would like for your swag. It should complement the colors in your bathroom.

    • 4

Fold and pin the edges of the fabric into a hem a half-inch deep all the way around. Sew the hem and remove the pins.

    • 5

Tie a big knot in the center of your fabric. Then take one tail and tie a knot halfway between the center knot and the end of the tail. Do the same on the other side. This will create three knots in your fabric.

    • 6

Take a piece of Scotch tape and press it in the top center of your bathroom mirror. This is where the middle of your swag will go. Put another piece of tape on the top left corner and one on the top right corner of the mirror.

    • 7

Put a small dab of hot glue, or fabric glue, onto the pieces of tape.

    • 8

Gently press the knots onto the glue dabs on the mirror. Hold in place a few seconds before letting go.

    • 9

Add flowers, bows, beads or other kinds of decoration to your swag.

Tips & Warnings

  • A lighter weight fabric will stay attached to the mirror better. Allow some fabric to droop between the knots for a swag look.

  • Avoid fabrics with prints for your swag.
