Instructions

    • 1

Measure the screen panels. Use the tape measure to measure the width and height of each panel of your screen. Usually the panels are the same size, but measure each one to be sure. Do not measure the border of the screen (usually the wood or metal piece that surrounds the screen). Write the measurements down.

    • 2

Cut foam boards. Cut the foam boards to the measurements of each panel, so you end up with one foam panel for each panel of the screen. You may need to tape the foam pieces together until it forms one complete piece for each panel.

    • 3

Cover foam panels with fabric. Lay out your fabric on a flat work area and place your foam panels on top of the fabric. Make sure that you position the panels so there are a couple of inches of excess fabric on each side of each panel. Wrap the foam panels with the fabric. Pull the fabric tight enough so it lies smooth on the panels. Tape the fabric to the panel.

    • 4

Create a crisscross pattern. Use the ribbon to create a crisscross pattern on each panel. At the point where the ribbon intersects, secure the ribbon to the fabric with a hot glue gun. Do not glue the entire strip of ribbon. Glue only the crisscross section. The ribbon is what will hold the pictures.

Add pearl embellishments. Glue the pearls at the intersection points of the ribbon. This adds a stylish accent to the board. If you prefer, you can use another type of embellishment, such as rhinestones or artificial flower buds.

    • 6

Attach the panels to the screen. Insert one fabric panel into each section of the screen. Use the glue gun to secure the panel to the screen.

    • 7

Insert pictures. Slide each picture under the ribbons on the board until you have a pleasing arrangement.

    • 8

Stand the folding screen up and position it in the area you want to decorate or cover.
