Things You'll Need:
- 2 mounting brackets, which usually come with the shade
- 4 screws, which usually come with the shade
- Pencil
- Measuring tape
- Carpenter's level
- Power drill and bits
- Flat-blade and/or Phillips screwdriver
-
Step 1
Decide if you want to mount the shade outside the window frame (to the wall above the window) or inside the window frame (onto the top of the window frame).
-
Step 2
Choose two locations (one for each bracket) toward the ends of the shade's head rail but out of the way of the mechanism within the head rail for an outside mount.
-
Step 3
Choose two locations (one for each bracket) evenly spaced from the ends of the shade and at the same distance from the front of the window frame for an inside mount. Again, make sure to mount the brackets where they will not interfere with the mechanism within the shade's head rail.
-
Step 4
Use a pencil to mark on the wall or window frame where you will install the brackets. Use a level to make sure your marks are at the same height, and use a measuring tape to make sure they are spaced evenly.
-
Step 5
Mount the brackets with a power drill using the screws that came with the Ambria Roman shade. If your shades are particularly wide, you may have a third (middle) bracket to install as well.
-
Step 6
Attach the Ambria Roman shade by inserting the front edge of the shade's head rail onto the brackets, and then press the back edge of the head rail up and into the brackets. You will hear the head rail snap into place.
