Jeans are very popular with both men and women. It is casual, convenient and can be dressed up for semi-formal occasions. Many women think jeans are necessary items and have several pairs in their closets. Women with short legs would have to choose the appropriate type of jeans because they would want the jeans to flatter their bodies and elongate their frame.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Women with long torso and short legs should wear jeans that flatter their bodies and elongate the legs. Elongate the legs with proper colors for jeans. Darker colors such as black, dark navy are best choices for a woman with short legs. It slims down the width of legs which will give an elongated look.

  2. Step 2

The rise of jeans is also important for women with short legs. The rise is the distance measured from the waist of the jeans to the crotch area. There are several different rises, ultra low rise, low rise, regular rise and high rise jeans. A woman with short legs should pick regular rise jeans because they are the most flattering. Ultra low and low rise would make legs look shorter because the crotch area is almost not there. High rise jeans are coming back to fashion but it exaggerates your long torsos even more.

  3. Step 3

The inseam of the jeans should be slightly longer for women with short legs. Jeans should cover the shoes because it will give an overall longer appearance for the legs. For example, if you wear 29 inches of inseam, you should buy jeans that are 30 inches for inseam. The extra length will give the illusion of longer legs. Do not buy anything that is extremely long because those are not in the right proportions for short legged women.

  4. Step 4

Bootcut jeans will make the legs look longer than it actually is more than other cuts. Skinny jeans should be avoided because it tells other people your leg shape. Flare cuts have too much volume on the bottom that makes shorter girls bottom heavy and look even shorter.
