Instructions
  1. Step 1

Determine what time of year the fundraiser will take place. Yes this has a lot to do with the success of a fundraiser. During the holidays, food and food items can go great but try them in the late spring and you may run into problems.

  2. Step 2

Focus on the time of year and what people are buying and doing.

  3. Step 3

Decide on a time frame, while some fundraisers may decide that for you it is best to have a time frame the group is happy with first. Then choose they can pick out ideas that do not fit.

  4. Step 4

Find out how many volunteers and members you have that are willing to help with the fundraiser. This is very important because the idea could be great but if there is not enough people to help it could end up being a total disaster.

  5. Step 5

Limit your budget. Most fundraisers will have costs at some point. Determine what your budget is and where that money is coming from.

  6. Step 6

Limit the decision makers. Some successful fundraising groups leave a suggestion box out for all to give suggestions. Then a small group of members will look over the suggestions and deem what is fit for the occasion. In some groups the small group will make the final decision, while with others the group will just form a small list of good options to be voted on.
