Things You'll Need:
- Electric Hair Clipper
-
Step 1
Use the lowest setting possible to start shaving from the neck upwards. You need to use this setting until you get to 2-3 inches above the ear. Make sure to carefully shave around the ears. You don't want any straggly hairs.
-
Step 2
Add the number 2 guard to your clipper. Use this setting to shave remaining hair on the top portion of your hair. Do this slowly to ensure that you are getting an even cut. You may have to go over the head several times.
-
Step 3
Remove the number 2 guard and replace it with the number 1. Use this setting to blend the top and bottom half of the hair. The goal is to make the transition look seamless. If after using the number 1 setting you can still see a line, remove the guard and change the clipper to the highest setting. Carefully use this setting to complete the fade. You need to be especially careful because without the guard you can easily mess up.
-
Step 4
Use a razor to shave the remaining hair on the back of your neck that you couldn't get with the clippers.
