Things You'll Need:
- 80s music
- dance floor
-
Step 1
Break Dance.
Break dancing goes with early electronic music, and some early Michael Jackson. To do it right, you really need a big sheet of cardboard on the floor to do the head and back spin moves, and the worm. -
Step 2
Do the robot.
The robot is a lot like break dancing, but you stay on your feet. Pop and lock in time to the music, and restrict your movements, so it looks like your joints only go in one direction. -
Step 3
Do the moon walk.
Master this dance move popularized by Michael Jackson, and you'll still look cool decades after it first took off. -
Step 4
Do the running man.
This one is way to complex to explain here. You really need to look on you tube to have any idea how it works. -
Step 5
Walk like an Egyptian.
When the Bangles hit Walk like an Egyptian comes on, you must do this dance. Imitate Egyptian paintings by holding your hands level with the floor. One hand should be above and in front of your forehead, and the other should be behind your waist. Move your hands toward and away from yourself in time to the music. -
Step 6
Do cabbage patch.
This one was named after the must have over priced doll, for unknown reasons. Put both fists out in front and pretend you're stirring a huge pot of soup with giant double spoons. Get your hips moving at the same time. -
Step 7
Do the roger Rabbit.
Sweep your feet one at a time behind you. Swing your arms to the back at the same time as your leg. At the end of the arm swing, move your shoulders back as far as they go, then swing your arms and shoulders forward before swinging the other leg. -
Step 8
Head Bang.
When a heavy metal hair band song comes on whip your head back and forth to the beat. If you're really into it swing your long hair around in a circle. -
Step 9
Start a mosh pit.
Moshing was popular with punks. They didn't go mainstream most places until the next decade though, so save it for a hard core 80s punk song. -
Step 10
Do the Pee-wee Herman.
Go up on your toes with bent legs. Hold your hands in fists and alternate bringing them together twice in front, then twice behind your back.
