Before you parallel park a car, you need to decide if there's enough space between the two cars. If it looks like your car can fit, signal right or left (depending on where it is you're parallel parking) and stop your car next to the car in front of where you plan to park. Don't turn your car off though. Make sure the back end of your car is even with the front end of the parking space.

Without moving, turn your steering wheel all the way around toward the direction of the curb in order to parallel park a car. Put your car in reverse and slowly back up into the parking space, letting your car straighten out when it goes back. Stop backing up when your rear wheel almost touches the curb. You're half way to parallel parking.

In order to complete the process and parallel park a car, drive forward a bit, making sure not to hit the parked car in front of you. Now, back up your car once more until the car is straight in the middle of the two cars. Feel free to drive forward and back up until your car is even.
