Things You'll Need:
- Channel locks
- Pipe wrench
- Phillips screw driver
- Garbage disposal kit
- Tail piece
- Drain Tee

Step 1
Turn off the power and unplug your disposal for the wall. Turning the power off can be done at your homes main breaker panel. Find the circuit that powers your garbage disposal and switch it to the "off" position.

Disconnect your disposal and dishwasher drain hoses. Use a screwdriver to remove any hose clamps and a simple pipe wrench to remove any fittings.

Unscrew your disposal from the mounting ring. Make sure to support the disposal with one hand to prevent it from falling off.

Connect your power cord to the garbage disposal. Most disposals will come with a power cord and instructions. If your's does not, simply purchase a "pig tail" appliance cord from your local home supply store.
Simply connect the corresponding wires using the wires nut's included in your kit. -
Step 5
Place your new garbage disposal in place and tighten the screws. Make sure to knock out the old plug inside the dishwasher hose if necessary.

Step 6
Using a tail piece, connect your disposal to a drain tee on the opposite side drain tube.

Step 7
Tighten your mounting ring and plug your new garbage disposal in.
