Do you hate restarting your computer because it takes so long. There could be a variety of issues from viruses to too many programs loading on your computer. You may start by uncluttering your computer when it starts up. It is very likely you have too many programs starting up with Windows, like virus scan software, etc. You can easily clean up your system start-up, so you can now start-up faster.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • PC
  1. Step 1

    Let's start off by going to your "Start" menu at the bottom left of your computer screen.

  2. Step 2

    Click "Start". From your "Start" menu select "Run..." from your menu.

  3. Step 3

    Once you've selected "Run...", type in the word "msconfig" and then hit the "ok" button.

  4. Step 4

    Move over to the "Startup" tab.

  5. Step 5

    In the "Startup" tab you will see a list of all the programs that start-up automatically whenever you restart your computer. You can deselect ones that you deem not necessary. This simple step should help you speed your start-up process.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are unsure what a program is then it is best not to deselect it.
