The masquerade mask is back, and everybody wants in! Chances are, someone you know is planning an event, in which you have to wear one. Masquerade mask balls are highly anticipated events where attendees conceal their identity. Here’s how to choose one.

  1. Step 1

Choose the right mask, for the right event. This means, you have to know where you will be wearing the mask, before you can choose the appropriate one. For example, if you are going to be at a mid summer’s afternoon event, you might not want to shop for a full head leather masquerade mask. Also, find out what the host suggests as far as the scale of the event.

  2. Step 2

Choose a masquerade mask which compliments your wardrobe. This is personal discretion and taste. Most people do fine with this step on their own. If at all possible, bring the wardrobe with you, to make a match. You will know right away if it works for you or not.

  3. Step 3

Pay for a quality mask if you can afford it. You can opt for a cheap masquerade mask if you want, but why risk ruining your evening if it breaks or malfunctions? Getting a good mask at a reasonable price is easy, and worth the extra effort.

  4. Step 4

Consider the material the mask is made of. There are several different varieties of masks, such as paper mache, leather, plastic, ceramic, feather, and the list goes on. You want to investigate a few different types to get a broader sense of the power a mask can have.

  5. Step 5

Select a ball mask that is comfortable. This can be tricky if you’re ordering online, because most retailers have an All Sales Final policy, which is completely understandable. This means that you will have to take extra time to read reviews prior to making your purchase, if you want to get a good mask online. You can always choose to shop locally, where you can try them on, before you buy.
