Instructions

    • 1

Choose a glass container to hold the oil and rods that suits your style and preferences. It does not have to be a clear container, but that makes the oil and skewers more noticeable and decorative, and will also help you see when the oil or fragrance is running low and needs to be replaced.

Buy dowel rods, skewers or other wooden sticks at a local hardware or home store. These are inexpensive and can be easily cut to the size you need. There are also many different types available so you can choose whichever kind you prefer.

    • 3

Mix your fragrance oil to add to the container. Oils can be made several different ways. Add fruit peels, fresh-squeezed fruit juices or spices to baby oil and pour it into the container until it is about 1/3 full. This creates a natural scent that will last for a long time and also look decorative and original. This is also an easy way to customize the look of your diffuser for wherever you choose to place it.

Add the wooden rods to the jar. Use however many it takes to achieve the look you prefer and try several different patterns and placements with them. Place the diffuser wherever you'd like for a long-lasting, natural fragrance.

Tips & Warnings

  • Replace the oil when the scent is noticeably faded. Most typically last up to a year.

  • If you change the scent of the oil, change the diffusers as well to prevent them from giving off a mixture of every scent they have absorbed.
