How to Make a Key Lime Pie Smoothie

Fruit smoothies are a healthy treat any day of the week. They are especially nice on a hot summer day. Key lime pie is an excellent snack. With its tang and sweetness, it is a thrill for the taste buds. This smoothie is a quick and easy version of the classic key lime pie, and it is a shake you will want again and again.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 graham crackers (crushed)
  • Plate
  • 4 glasses
  • Blender
  • 1 1/2 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup lime juice (key lime juice if you can find it)
  • 1 tbsp. grated lime peel
  • Whipped cream
  • Lime slices

    Key Lime Pie Smoothie

  1. Step 1

    Place the crushed graham crackers on a plate. Wet rims of the glasses with damp paper towel. Dip the rims of the glasses into the crumbs. Set glasses aside.

  2. Step 2

    In your blender, place ice cream, ice cubes, milk, lime juice, lime peel and remaining graham cracker crumbs. Blend on high for about one minute until mixture is smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add a little more milk and blend again until it reaches a smooth consistency.

  3. Step 3

    Pour drink into each of the four glasses evenly, making sure not to disturb the graham cracker crumbs on the rim. Dollop whipped cream on top and place a thin slice of lime.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you want an even healthier alternative to this smoothie, use non-fat milk and vanilla frozen yogurt instead.
