If you use a watering can to water your hanging plant baskets, it can be a messy undertaking with water dripping everywhere, including on you. There are a number of easy ways to water hanging baskets such as using funnels, ice cubes and by soaking plants.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Place a funnel into the middle of each hanging basket. Do so carefully so you don't damage the roots. Fill the funnel with water. The funnel slowly releases water, hydrating the soil.

  2. Step 2

Try watering your hanging plants by placing ice cubes into the center of the plant. The ice will melt slowly and the soil will absorb the water.

  3. Step 3

Take down the hanging plant and place it into a bucket of lukewarm water. Let it soak for 15 to 30 minutes. Allow the pot to drain thoroughly then replace the hanging plant so it will air out. This is a good way to hydrate plants that haven't been watered for a few days and are a bit drier.

Tips & Warnings
  • Hanging baskets require more frequent watering because they dry out more quickly.
