How to Become a Cingular Wireless Dealer

Cingular Wireless, known as AT&T, offers a local dealer program for businesses that would like to sell AT&T products such as high speed Internet services, devices and cellular services. Local dealers must have a retail store to be able to be involved in the Local Dealer Program.

  Prepare to show financial, insurance records and a plan to market and sell Cingular and AT&T products. This includes having a federal tax ID, a legal title and planned delivery schedules. The individual is also required to document their quality standards as they pertain to their products, the site, their employees and the service they provide. According to the AT&T Web site, the company is searching for dealers who will "add value to the supply chain and have a positive track record with a good financial history."

  Open your web browser and type "http://www.attsuppliers.com/prospective_reg_process.asp" into the URL field. Hit enter. The next page will have a link on the right side called "Register now." Click it and fill out the form. Complete the form online and wait for conformation. The company will contact you to begin the process of becoming a local dealer.

  Referring to the program's opportunity contact list is another way to get the process started. This list contains names and contact information for local market leadersip. Find your local market information on the list. Open your browser and type in the URL field: "ftp://cwdealers:cingular1@gftpdb.cingular.com/Market%20Contacts.xls." Hit enter on your keyboard.

  Contact local market leadership personnel. These company officials will be able to tell the prospective dealer whether there are opportunities in the local market.

  Work with the local market leadership. They will assist a new dealer to get up and running with tutorials, software and resources with AT&T.

  Join the local dealer program once you have been approved to be a AT&T dealer.

  Secure a retail space for the your storefront. This storefront should have technical capabilities such as Internet access and phone service.
