How to Play the Game Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil 4 is a third-person survival/horror game for the Nintendo GameCube. The game puts players in control of Leon Kennedy, a Secret Service agent on a mission to rescue the president's daughter from a mysterious cult in rural Spain. The game pits players against hordes of deranged villagers and mutated creatures, which players must defeat to uncover the mysteries of the cult. The game became one of the most critically and commercially successful titles of all time upon its release.

Move the control stick left or right to turn your character left or right. Move the stick up or down to move your character forward or backward, respectively.

Move the C stick to move the camera.

Press A to confirm menu selections, pick up items, open doors and interact with the environment.

Press B to cancel menu selections. While holding B, move the control stick up to run or down to quickly turn around.

Press and hold R to ready your weapon. While holding your weapon ready, use the control stick to aim and press the A to fire; press B to reload.

Press and hold L to equip your knife.

Press Y to open the "Status" menu, where you can organize and equip weapons and items.

Press X to open the "Attaché Case" menu, where you can organize the items in your attaché chase. Press L and R to rotate items in your attaché case to create more space.

Press Z to view the area map.

Explore the game world and collect clues and items to progress. Look for keys to open locked doors and uncover hidden areas. If you encounter a padlocked door, shoot the lock to open it.

Kill or avoid enemies you come across.

Avoid enemy attacks. If you are hit with an enemy attack, you health bar will deplete. If your health bar empties completely, you will have to restart from a previous checkpoint. Use herbs and other health items in the "Status" menu to regain health.

Collect ammunition and items in your attaché case. Organize your attaché case to maximize the amount of available space.

Locate typewriters to save your progress. Speak to the weapons dealer to purchase new weapons and sell treasures.

Tips & Warnings
Aim for an enemy's head to inflict the maximum amount of damage, or aim for his legs to knock him on the ground. If an enemy throws an object at you, shoot it to knock it out of the air. Your ammunition supply is limited, so use your weapons wisely. Run away from slow-moving enemies to avoid wasting bullets. Watch your back. Enemies will often try to sneak up on you from behind. Always make sure your weapons are fully loaded. Enemies often ambush you, leaving you with little time to reload during a battle. Experiment with combining items in the "Status" menu. Combine a red herb with a green one to create a more potent healing agent, or combine treasures to increase their value. If you encounter a tripwire or bear trap, shoot it to disable it.
