How to Decorate With Faux Holiday Greens & Flameless Candles

Faux greens and flameless candles are the perfect holiday decorations. Faux greens will not dry out and turn brown, and flameless candles do not pose a fire hazard. You can adjust the greens to fit wherever you want to place them, and you can add other items to the greens and candles to personalize the decorations and match the theme of your home. Create a large centerpiece for a formal gathering or scatter small groups of faux holiday greens and flameless candles around your home. Best of all, you can store them when not in use and enjoy them year after year. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Choose a location for your greens and candles. The location should be relatively flat and close to an electrical outlet if your flameless candles run on electricity. Try placing them on top of a fireplace mantel, on a windowsill, in the center of your dining room table or even on a coffee table.

    • 2

Set up the candles. Group them together for a more dramatic look, or spread them apart, perhaps along a table runner, at even intervals. Lay out the cord, if they have a cord, and make sure the cord can reach the electrical outlet.

    • 3

Arrange the greens around the candles. If the candles are in a group, surround them with the greens like a nest. If they are spread out, fill in the spaces between the candles. Faux holiday greens have wires in them that allow you to bend and customize the angle of each branch. For a natural look, make sure that the branches are not all laying straight in the same direction. Instead, bend a few at odd angles to one another.

    • 4

Add some personal touches. Lay some shiny red and green Christmas ornaments among the greens, and tie some red and green bows on the candles. Or, for a more rustic look, place some scented pinecones between the branches. You can even use the greens and candles to surround a favorite holiday decoration, such as a freestanding angel or snowman.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your candles are battery powered, make sure to install fresh batteries in them before you set them up. Otherwise, you may have to take your decorations apart to replace the batteries. Decorate separately with your fax greens and candles. Drape the greens from a chandelier or around a window. Line a windowsill with small flameless candles, or even hang them from a tree outside.
