- Microsoft TweakUI

Step 1
Download TweakUI from ComputerHope.com (see Resources).

Step 2
Launch TweakUI. After the program loads, click on the link labeled "Control Panel."

Examine the list on the right side of the window for Control Panel icons that you do not need to see. The shortcut name and full program name will be shown for each control panel icon.

Step 4
Remove the check mark from the box next to each Control Panel icon you would like to disable.

Step 5
Click "OK." You may need to restart your computer to complete the change.
