Not everyone wants dinner and a movie for their first date. First dates should be not only fun, but memorable and most importantly, informative. You only get one shot at a first date, and it should be geared towards you and your partner's personality. Here are a couple ideas that would make for a unique and brag-worthy first date experience.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    * The Adventurer- Take a trip to a rock climbing facility or to your closest outdoor experience. Ladies, if your guy is quick to help you make your way up the rocks, it highlights more than admirable qualities that would contribute to your future together. Guys, if she is quick to shove you to get to the top first, you know she will be the one to keep up with.

  2. Step 2

    * The Sporty- Weed out the miss-match personalities from the start. If baseball is your poison, take her to the batting cages for a one on one time like no other. Even if she is no Barry Bonds, you get to snuggle while teaching her how to swing. Ladies, challenge your guy to a game at the local park to show him you can keep up with him, and end the day with a sidewalk hotdog and Gatorade. Low key, low maintenance fun.

  3. Step 3

    * The Philanthropist help others to a better future while creating a bond with that special someone, look for your local Habitat for Humanity and volunteer for a day. Ladies, learn if you would ever have to call a contractor again for household projects. Guys, determine whether your "it girl" is more into herself than into caring for others. It would speak for how she would care for you and your loved ones.

  4. Step 4

    * The Romantic- Create a moment that will bring that movie magic into your love life. Remake the epic Ghost by taking her to a pottery class. Guys, it's a great way to get "dirty" while still keeping it clean on the first date. Ladies, challenge his creativity to see how well he works with his hands.

Tips & Warnings
  • These are some examples of how to bring a unique and memorable experience that brings you together. There are many other ways to bring your passions into your relationship. Remember, it is important to plan a first date that would generate conversation and eliminates those awkward "now-what" moments.

on 10/26/2009 love this! I agree, doing an activity together definitely makes for a great "break the awkward dinner moments" and much better than the silence of watching a movie. I like #3 and #4! :)
