How to Make a Gourd Garland

Why not decorate your yard this fall with adorable gourd garlands? The warm colors from the gourds look great during the fall season and can last through Thanksgiving. They coordinate well with any pumpkin décor during Halloween too. Place them inside your home or tacked outside to your fence or even over the front door for a festive entry. Kids will also enjoy putting them together. The best part is--they are so easy to make--but visitors will surely think you bought them from a store!

Things You'll Need

• Miniature gourds
• Drill
• Embroidery needle or knitting needle
• Twine

Instructions

1. Purchase a variety of different gourds. You can find gourds at gourd farms, craft suppliers (dried gourds) and many online sites. Make sure you get miniature gourds.

2. Drill a hole through the center of the gourd using a drill with a fine bit.

3. 

   Using an embroidery needle or a knitting needle, pull the twine through each gourd. Make sure to alternate between the different gourds. Tie two knots on both sides of each gourd to secure it in place. Continue with this process every 6 inches.
