If you are looking for a great idea for fall decorating, or that special centerpiece for you Thanksgiving table nothing defines the season more beautifully than an arrangement of autumn flowers in a pumpkin vase. Using mini pumpkins for candle holders on either side of your arrangement will give your table an elegant fall look that nothing can match.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • pumpkin
  • plastic or glass vase
  • fall themed and colored flowers and flora
  1. Step 1

Select the size and shape of pumpkin you want to use for your centerpiece. Make sure that the bottom is flat enough to sit sturdily on your table without wiggling or wobbling, as you don't want any mishaps during dinner.

  2. Step 2

Cut off the top in a size large enough to accommodate the size vase you plan on sitting inside. Make sure your pumpkin is high enough to completely hide the inner vase.

  3. Step 3

Scoop out the inside of the pumpkin like you would if you were going to carve a jack-o-latern. Make sure that the bottom where the vase will sit is smooth and does not have any bumps that will inhibited the inside vase from sitting correctly.

  4. Step 4

If using fresh flowers put water in the bottom of the glass or plastic vase and then arrange your flowers. If using silk flowers arrange them in an attractive style and look.

  5. Step 5

Gently place the vase inside the pumpkin and rearrange flowers as needed.

  6. Step 6

To make pumpkin holders from mini pumpkins cut off top and then cut stem our of the center of the top, the candle should fit through the hole left by the stem. If not, then widen the hole to accommodate the candle.

Scoop out the inside of the mini pumpkins and place a candle holder in the bottom. Replace pumpkin top and insert candle. If you need to adhere candles to the bottom of the inside holder do that before replacing the top of the pumpkin and then slide the pumpkin top over the candle until it is in place.

You now have a beautiful fall or Thanksgiving arrangement for your table.
