How to Remove Crayon Stains From a Flat White Wall

For those of you raising little artists, you may have already noticed that in their mind the whole world is a canvas just waiting for a touch of crayons. Perhaps you see things differently, in which case a "midnight blue" and magenta "mural" in your home may seem like a disaster. Fortunately for you, there are numerous ways to remove young Picasso's masterpieces from the walls of your home.

Things You'll Need

• Clean cloth
• White toothpaste
• Toothbrush

Instructions

Several Simple Suggestions

1. Dampen the area with a clean, damp cloth.

2. Apply white toothpaste on an old toothbrush.

3. Scrub the stained area with the toothbrush to remove the crayon stains. Add more toothpaste as necessary until all of the stains are gone.

4. Wipe the wall with a clean, damp cloth to remove the residual toothpaste.

Tips & Warnings

• Mixing baking soda and water into a paste can also be quite effective when applied to a clean, damp cloth to scrub the wall with. WD-40 and "Magic Eraser" sponges also work well in lifting crayon stains.

• Avoid the use of harsh chemicals and abrasives that may damage the paint on your wall.
