How to Kill Tub Mold

Mold can grow in your tub whether your bathe in the tub or shower while standing in the tub. Mold in or around the tub can cause a foul odor to permeate your bathroom and also give your bathroom an unclean appearance. Using a soap may remove any mold that you see on the tub, but it probably won't kill the mold in the tub. Fortunately, there is a household item that can be used to clean and kill mold in the tub.   • Bathroom scrubbing brush
  • White vinegar
  • Liquid soap
  • Water

      Fill a bowl or bucket with warm water and a tablespoon of liquid dish soap that contains bleach alternative.

      Dip the bristles of the bathroom scrubbing brush into the soapy water and scrub away the tub mold that you can see. Wash this scrubbing brush or set it aside if you have a second one to use.

      Wipe down the tub with a clean cloth in order to dry the portion of the tub you just scrubbed.

      Pour or spray undiluted white vinegar onto the part of the tub filled with mold. Be sure to saturate the entire area that has mold.

      Scrub the tub once more using a clean bathroom scrubbing brush.

      Wait 30 minutes to an hour and then rinse the tub with warm water.

      Dry the tub using a clean towel or cloth. Make sure the tub is completely dry, or the mold may return. To ensure the tub completely dries, you may want to turn a fan on in front of the tub and allow the fan to run for an hour or two.
