How to Apply for a Job at Walmart

Walmart offers the convenience of applying online for a job with their company. There are more than 2.1 million people employed at Walmart, according to the website Walmartstores.com (see reference 1). Manager, cashier, and optometrist are positions that are available in Walmart locations. The Walmart official website offers employment in areas such as marketing, information technology, and engineering. Corporate jobs, such as working for the benefit and claims department, are also available for qualified applicants. Walmart also owns Sam's Club and has an online application process for its jobs on the same website.

1. Go to http://walmartstores.com on your computer.

2. Click on the careers tab.

3. Click the "Apply for a Career" tab on the menu on the left hand side of the page.

4. Click the "in your local area" link.

5. Read the introduction provided by the Hiring Center. Click the "Apply Now" button.

6. Read the statement provided concerning applicants with disabilities. Click the "I agree" button.

7. Read the information provided concerning background checks. Click the "I agree" button.

8. Click the "I agree" button after reading the statement concerning drug testing and falsifying information on an application.

9. Click the "I agree" button after reading the information regarding criminal history, smoking in the workplace, and the length of time the application will remain valid.

10. Register a user name and password for the Walmart website. The password must contain seven to eleven characters, with capital letters, non-capital letters and numbers for it to be approved. Choose five of the security questions and answers for retrieving your password if it is ever lost. Write the information down and put it in a safe place.

11. Login with your username and password and proceed to complete the hour-long application with your personal information. You can save your work and go back to the application if necessary, and the application is valid for 60 days.
