Bathrooms are almost always where daily beauty rituals take place. Since they are private, generally very well lit and have big mirrors, it is easy to let loose and go crazy with your beauty regimen. However, if your daily beauty cycle involves using lots of hairspray, you may notice that the particles on the floor will begin to congregate over time and eventually form a sticky surface that is hard to clean Fortunately, there is a way to get that sticky mess off the floor.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Water
  • Mop
  • Sponge with scour
  • Ammonia-based cleaner
  1. Step 1

Mop the floor. Before you can target the hair spray stain specifically, you will have to clean up the rest of the floor. Using warm water and all-purpose floor cleanser, mop the entire floor, and then wait 30 minutes for it to dry.

  2. Step 2

Treat the hair spray stain with an ammonia-based cleaner. Simply spray some Windex or 409 Antibacterial directly on the stain, and then let it sit for a few minutes. Generally you will only need a few squirts, but if the stain is especially thick, do not be afraid to apply the cleaner more liberally.

  3. Step 3

Scrub the stain away. Using a sponge with a scour, gently rub the hair spray stain until it starts breaking apart. Then use the soft side of the sponge to remove the leftover film pieces that the hair spray stain left behind.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you have marble tile, it is very important not to use ammonia to clean it, as it will permanently damage the tile. Instead, try aggressively scrubbing the stain with plain water or find a specially prepared solution for marble.
