How to Tune a Soprano Ukulele
The smallest member of the ukulele family, the soprano ukulele is a versatile instrument. Like other stringed instruments, it requires tuning before each playing session. This four-stringed instrument is comprised of the high G string, C, E and A strings. Spending a few minutes tuning up the soprano uke is necessary since the instrument oftentimes will fall out of tune from temperature and humidity changes or from string stretching due to previous play.
Instructions

1
Grasp the tuning peg for the top G string (the string closest to your head when holding the ukulele) and turn clockwise to tighten the string.
-
2
Turn the G-string tuning peg with one hand while plucking the string with your other thumb until you approach the desired pitch.
-
-
3
Turn on the electronic tuner. Select the G tone on the tuner and play a continuous tone that you can check the G string against.
-
4
Turn the tuning peg counter-clockwise if the instrument's pitch is sharp (above the desired pitch) until the ukulele's G string matches the tone on the electronic tuner. If the string is flat (below the desired pitch), slightly turn the turning peg clockwise until the desired pitch is achieved.

Repeat Steps 1 through 4 to tune the C, E, and A strings.

Tips & Warnings
A pitch pipe or computer tuner may alternately be used if an electronic tuner is unavailable. Strum the ukulele vigorously after you have tuned the strings, then recheck tuning in case any of the strings have slipped out of tune.
