      Remove the battery from your cordless drill.

      Remove the chuck screw from the drill chuck. Place the Allen wrench into the drill chuck and turn to the right. Make sure the jaws of the drill chuck are fully open.

      Unscrew the chuck from the drill. If your drill is not keyless, insert the chuck key and then strike it with a rubber mallet to loosen the chuck from the spindle. Use an adjustable wrench to loosen the chuck if it does not use a key.

      Insert the new chuck onto the threaded spindle. Turn the chuck to the left and hand-tighten it.

      Open the jaws on the new chuck to insert the chuck screw. Tighten the screw with the Allen wrench by turning it to the left.

      Put the battery back in the drill. Test the new chuck by inserting the bit and drilling a test hole in a scrap piece of wood.
