Step 1
Take the Oreck XL Air Purifier cover off by removing the large screw located at the bottom of the machine. The lid should just pop right off after you remove the screw by hand.

Unhook the air filter and place it to the side. The screen on the front of the Oreck also needs to be removed and cleaned. Do this by either spraying it with an antibacterial product such as Windex or by soaking it in hot water.

Remove the collection tray (depending on which model you have) and clean it with hot water. If it is not capable of being removed, you can use a cloth or vacuum to remove the waste.

Step 4
Wipe down the exterior of the unit with a cloth and hot water. Let the entire machine air dry for about two hours. Do not put the unit back together until it is completely dry.
