Bluebird houses are primarily composed of simple geometric shapes. These structures are best drawn using a ruler for precise and accurate results. After you've completed drawing the birdhouse, consider drawing a blue bird in the house to generate interest and action around your drawing.

Instructions

    • 1

Draw a trapezoid 1 inch tall. The top and bottom should be horizontal and straight. The top should be 1 inch long, and the bottom should be 3/4 inch long and centered below the top. The sides of the trapezoid should be drawn to connect the ends of the top and the bottom. This is the front face of the blue bird house.

    • 2

Two thirds of the way up the center of the trapezoid, draw a circle 1/4 inch in diameter. This is the entrance for the birds.

    • 3

Draw a rectangle on to of the trapezoid, 1 1/4 inch wide and 1/8 inch tall. It should be centered on the top edge of the trapezoid.

    • 4

Attached to the right side of the rectangle, draw a rhombus. The left side of the rhombus will be the right side of the rectangle, so they will be the same height. The bottom and top of the rhombus will be 1/4 inch long. The bottom of the rhombus will form a 135-degree angle with the bottom edge of the rectangle. The top of the rhombus will be parallel to the bottom, and the right side of the rhombus will be parallel with the left.

    • 5

Draw another rhombus, the bottom of which is formed by the top edge of the rectangle and the right edge of which is formed by the top of the first rhombus. The left side will run parallel to the right, and the top will run parallel to the bottom. You have now completed the top of the birdhouse.

    • 6

Touch your pencil to the lower righthand corner of the front face of the blue bird house. Draw a line out and to the right, 1/4 inch long, forming a 120-degree angle with the bottom edge of the front face of the birdhouse.

    • 7

At the end of the line you drew in step 6, draw a line that runs parallel to the right edge of the front of the birdhouse. Draw this line all the way up to the top of the birdhouse and stop. You have now drawn the right side of the birdhouse.
