How to Get a Driving License in the Philippines
If you are visiting the Philippines and plan to drive a vehicle, you may be curious of how to obtain a driver's license. If you are visiting temporarily, up to 90 days, you may use your American driver's license to drive legally. After 90 days, however, you must visit The Land Transportation Office (LTO) to get a non-professional driver's license. The LTO is responsible for administrating driver's licenses in the Philippines and will be responsible for issuing you your license. If you already have a driver's license, obtaining a license in the Philippines is fairly easy.

Tips & Warnings
If you are staying in the Philippines for more than 90 days and you currently don't have an American license, you will need to take both the written and road tests. If this applies to you, additional requirements can be found in the "License Fees and Requirements" link under Resources.

God information. Just wondering if an American can drive in the Philippines even if he just visited for weeks?
