Things You'll Need:
- Measuring tape
- Level
- Pliers
- Appliance caddy
-
Step 1
Purchase a washer from an appliance store. Choose a washer that has been appropriately measured to fit the space in your apartment.
-
Step 2
Measure the door frames you will need to enter through with the washer and temporarily remove the doors to fit the washer through if necessary. Use the appliance caddy to minimize stress on your back.
-
Step 3
Put the washer in place, leaving enough space to attach hoses to faucets. Recognize which hose should be attached to the hot water faucet and the same for cold water. Screw on the hoses and tighten with the pliers.
-
Step 4
Move the washer toward the wall and place your level on the washer to determine if it's sitting right. If it is not level, you can place a small piece of cardboard under the bottom of the corner that needs adjusting. This will help prevent unnecessary wear and noise from the washer.
