How to Clean Patio Doors

Things You'll Need
- 18" squeegee and handle
- Hot water
- Bucket
- Dishwashing liquid
- Large spoon
- Clean soft cloth
- Paper towels
- Screwdriver or dull knife
- Clean rag

Buy an 18-inch professional squeegee and handle to go with it at your local home improvement store. Using this tool to clean patio doors makes it a much easier task.

Put one-gallon hot water into a bucket. Pour one tbsp. liquid dishwashing soap into the bucket. Mix very gently with a large spoon; you don't want lots of suds.

Dampen the rag with the solution and rub it over one section of a door from top to bottom.

Use your squeegee to clear the cleaning solution from the top to bottom of each section. Clean the doors one at a time using this method. If there are streaks or drops of water you missed, you can clear them away with paper towels.

Take your screwdriver or dull knife and cover the end of it with the rag you used to clean the patio doors. Run it along the bottom of the track to get the grime out. Use a clean rag to dry the track.

Tips & Warnings
Be careful not to scrape the glass with the metal edge of the squeegee; this can ruin the patio doors.
