  1. Building an Even Countertop

      Tape off your walls. Using a level, run a length of masking tape along the back of your existing countertop around the entire section where you would like to install a new countertop.

      Measure twice. At 2-foot intervals, place the yardstick on the floor of the kitchen and make sure the point at each interval matches at the same mark on the yardstick as all the other intervals.

      Install countertop. Using the appropriate sealant and building materials, install your countertop along the bottom of the countertop markings. Congratulations on your even-keel countertop!
