You are a seller on eBay. You are constantly looking for new things to sell, but you don’t want to spend a lot of money. How about not spending any money at all and selling things for your friend, family, neighbors and people who look you up? How is that possible, you ask? If you quality with a few requirements, then you can be listed on eBay as a trading assistant. You can then sell for others and use the eBay trading assistant logo to promote yourself and your online business.

Here’s how to get started.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • eBay account
  • 100 Feedbacks, 98% positive
  • 10 sales in the past 3 months
  • Have to be a US resident
  1. Step 1

Go to the eBay trading assistant page. Read through the user agreement. You must agree to it. The other requirements are: You must be a US citizen, an eBay seller in good standing, must have sold 10 items in the past three months and continue to sell at least 10 things in each future 3 month period. You must have a feedback rating of at least 100 and maintain a 98% of positive feedbacks.

  2. Step 2

Find other eBay trading assistants in your area with the search box and read over their terms and conditions to compare and come up with your own terms and conditions.
Many eBay trading assistants take a certain percentage of sales less fees as their portion of the profits. The terms of your services will be your own to make and follow.

  3. Step 3

Fill out the online form with info about the type of sales you are experienced and want to continue with. This form will include your contact info and your eBay experience and a bit about how you will work with new clients. If you fulfill the requirements, you will be listed in the database of eBay trading assistants.

  4. Step 4

If you like, you can register as an eBay drop off location. This is possible if you have a physical store front and regular business hours.

  5. Step 5

Remember becoming an eBay trading assistant is like any other job which is performance based. Your professionalism will carry you far and the sales you complete will be judged by those buying with feedback, positive or negative. You are responsible for all fees and the feedback will be yours, even when selling for someone else. Good luck!

Tips & Warnings
  • You set the rules for your own eBay trading assisting.
  • Both parties must agree to your terms.
  • Have an exit plan if items don’t sell. After a certain period of listing non-selling items, perhaps donating to a local charity may be your goal.
  • Try to have GREAT customer service to make your business a success.
  • Your reputation is at stake when listing items from other people.
  • Make sure electronics work before saying they do in a description.
