Various Skinny Jeans

Tired of your old boring loose jeans. Well this simple step by step guide will help you transform your old jeans to new and improved skinny jeans.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pair of Jeans
  • Sewing Needle
  • Thread or Flavorless Floss
  • Safety Pins
  • Black Pen
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  1. Step 1

First you will need a pair of jeans you are willing to make skinny. Thick jeans are usually harder to sew through. So the perfect type of jeans to configure are stretchy jeans. Put your jeans on inside out.

  2. Step 2
medium sized safety pins do just fine, the really small ones tend to pop

Once your jeans are on inside out grab the inside sides of the jeans and safety pin where you will be sewing your thread, leaving the excess jeans sticking out separated by the safety pins. you will need at least five safety pins on each legs. Once you have all the safety pins on, take your pants off leaving them inside out.

  3. Step 3

Lay your jeans flat on the floor. Get your ruler ready and draw straight lines connecting the safety pins. This will give you a guideline of where to sew and keep everything neat. You can take out all of your safety pins once you have the line guiding you. You can either use a sewing machine or do it by free hand. For free hand all you have to do is put the thread through the needle. Once the thread is through you should have two ends of thread hanging tie them together and make it into a knot. Then start sewing along the line you drew. Go over and under repeat until you made it to the end of the pant leg then tie another knot, repeat that on the next leg. Now you have skinny jeans and you didn't spend a buck.

Tips & Warnings
  • Floss is more durable than thread
  • If you mess up you can always start over, just cut the thread
