Instructions

    • 1

Place your avocados in complete darkness. Avocados tend to ripen faster at night (darkness). This can be done by placing them in a brown paper bag or wrapping them in a towel.

    • 2

Store your avocados at room temperature. Avocados ripen best in warm climates. Putting your avocados in the refrigerator will only slow the ripening process.

    • 3

Add another piece of fruit to your bag or towel. Additional fruit ripening will emit chemicals that will encourage your avocados to ripen faster.

    • 4

Check on your avocados regularly. Leaving them in complete darkness can turn your avocados to mush within a week. Your avocados should be soft to the touch but not mushy.
