How to install a store bought wooden baby gate.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tape Measure
  1. Step 1

    Using the tape measure, measure the width of the inside of your door. The width of the inside of your door is the width from the left side of the door frame to the right side of the door frame.

  2. Step 2

    Put the gate in the doorway, with the wooden latch facing the area you do not want the baby in (in other words, away from the area the baby will be in.

  3. Step 3

    Find the number on the latch that corresponds with the inches you measured in step one.

  4. Step 4

    Put the metal pin in the groove above the number you found in step 3.

  5. Step 5

    Close the gate by pressing the latch wood piece toward the other wood piece. When the clip closes around the second wood piece, the latch is closed.

  6. Step 6

    Make sure the gate is sturdy by pressing against it. If it wiggles, try moving the metal pin into the next groove and redo step 5.

Tips & Warnings
  • Please remember that gates are used to keep children safe, but are not to be used instead of parental supervision.
  • If a child pushes all of their body weight against a gate, it will probably fall; therefore, again, I must urge parental supervision.
