Toddlers and small children can often be very picky. Because of this, they do not always get the protein they need. Here are 5 simple protein snacks for toddlers and children. This is NOT intended for children with allergies to nuts.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Peanut butter.
  • Gram crackers.
  • Honey.
  • Bananas.
  1. Step 1

Low fat gram crackers with peanut butter. All you have to do is split the gram cracker along the lines and spread one section with peanut butter and put another section on top. One sheet will make 2 little sandwiches. Serve with a half glass of milk to dip them in.

  2. Step 2

Cut a banana in half, then cut each half long ways. Spread a thin sheet of peanut butter on each of the four sections. Serve with milk or 100% fruit juice.

  3. Step 3

Give your child or toddler a small bowl of animal crackers. Fill a small container with a tablespoon of peanut butter and allow them to dip the animal cookies all by themselves. Serve with milk.

  4. Step 4

Cut celery into 3 inch sections. Spread peanut butter in the groove. Serve with milk or 100% juice.

  5. Step 5

Cut an apple into thin sections. Again, fill a separate small container with peanut butter. You may also smear it on yourself, but kids do love dipping. Serve with milk.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try low fat or fat free mild and peanut butter.
  • Try different flavors of gram cracker or animal cracker.
  • Always watch small children while eating.
  • FOOD ALLERGY - contains peanuts.
