How to Draw a Cow Step by Step

I'll show you how to draw a cow, step by step, in this article in just six quick and easy steps! Let's get started, folks!

Instructions

1. 

   The first step is pretty simple. Just take a pencil and draw a vertical, yet short rectangle with an oval sticking out of the upper left half of it. Refer to the images to the left in each of these steps. Click on the thumbnails to the left to make them larger.

2. 

   Add a triangle with a flat top on top of the oval you drew in Step 1. Have the triangle have a flat bottom with it's edges widening at the edges of the oval. Make sure that the line rising on the right is much straighter than the line on the left.

   Now, add a smaller oval to the lower right hand corner of the vertical rectangle you drew in step 1. This will be the utter.

3. 

   Round out the triangle you drew in step 2 to give it the shape of a cartoon cow's head. Erase interior lines in the shape. Spare the line at the top of the first oval connecting the nose to the top of the cow's head though.

   Basically, when you are finished with this step, there shouldn't be any lines inside of any other shapes.

4. 

   Add eyes, ears and horns! Pretty simple, just draw some big bulgy eyes on your cow. To do this, position circles on each of the lines in the flat-topped triangle you created earlier.

   To add ears, just draw simple cow ear shapes near the top of the triangle where it goes flat. Add some horns sticking up there while you're at it.

5. 

   Add some detail. Add some pupils to the eyes of the cow and add some nostrils. Add some bumps on the utter you drew earlier. Give him some little skinny legs and a tail. Be sure to add the pointy clump of hair to the end of the cow's tail while you are at it.

6. 

   Add color! Give the cow some of those black splotches of color to his back. Give her some pink to the inner layer of her ears and some pink to the nose. Can't forget to add pink to the utter either!

   Now, you can color her hooves brown if you want. Congratulations! You just drew a cow!
