Things You'll Need:
- Toothpaste
- Dental Floss
- Toothbrush
- Toothpaste
- Fluoride wash
-
Step 1
Schedule an appointment with your Dentist for a fluoride wash. Fluoride strengthens your teeth and helps fight Cavities for extended periods of time. All you do is swish your teeth with fluoride for about a minute each time (varies with dentist) and your done.
-
Step 2
Eat as much sugar free candy as possible. Switching to sugar free gum is especially important. when you chew sugar gum you are constantly pressing sugar into your teeth for long periods of time. Sugar gum is one of the leading causes of cavities.
-
Step 3
Brush your teeth immediately after you eat any candy or sweets. Every second sugar sits on your teeth it's corroding and decaying the enamel on your teeth. Eating all of your candy at once and then brushing your teeth right after greatly reduces your risk of cavities.
-
Step 4
If you can't brush your teeth after eating candy, swish your mouth with water. This will at least remove and dilute the sugar content in your mouth.
-
Step 5
Floss your teeth daily. Just brushing your teeth isn't enough especially if you eat a lot of candy and sweets. In between your teeth are where most cavities form in the first place. Flossing your teeth at least once a day is vital when trying to prevent cavities.
