An automatic pool cleaner, like the Polaris, can be heaven when it comes to cleaning your pool. From time to time, however, you'll have to clean the Polaris in order to help it maintain your pool. Routine cleaning of the Polaris takes just a few simple steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 Polaris filter bag
  • Garden hose or faucet
  1. Step 1

Locate the filter on your Polaris and detach the Velcro strips on either side.

  2. Step 2

Twist the bag by its collar and pull up to free the bag from cleaner itself.

  3. Step 3

Unzip both sides of the bag to remove debris (especially if the bag is half-full with sand). If you have an extra filter bag, rotate frequently, as it is easier to empty a dry bag.

  4. Step 4

Disconnect the Polaris and disassemble the filter assembly (one or two clockwise turns should release the sections needed).

  5. Step 5

Remove the screen from the middle of the filter assembly and rinse it under a hose or faucet.

  6. Step 6

Press the screen firmly into place and screw the ends back on the filter assembly.

  7. Step 7

Let the filtration system run for at least five minutes before reconnecting.
