How to Remove a Roomba Battery

IRobot's Roomba is a simple and effective way of keeping your floors clean without the hassle of vacuuming yourself. The Roomba robot, which runs on battery power, travels around your floor navigating around walls and furniture with built-in sensors. Removing a battery to replace or recharge it is extremely simple.

Things You'll Need

• Roomba
• Screwdriver

Instructions

1. Turn the Roomba over so its underside is facing up.

2. Locate the battery. It is within a plastic yellow rectangular housing. There are two release tabs, one on each side of the yellow housing.

3. Press both release tabs in to release the battery.

4. Lift the battery out of the Roomba.

Tips & Warnings

• Make sure the Roomba is powered off before removing the battery. In older models of the Roomba, the battery housing may be under the bottom plate. If such is the case for your Roomba, use a screwdriver to unscrew the bottom plate and remove the battery.

• To prolong the life of your battery, avoid charging the battery on carpeted services and avoid using the Roomba on wet surfaces.
