How to Clean Laminate Kitchen Cabinets

Save

At a fraction of the cost of real wood cabinets, laminate kitchen cabinets boast all of the same aesthetic benefits as the real thing. Comprised of particle board with a laminate veneer glued on top, laminate cabinets are surprisingly durable. Requiring very little in the way of keeping them clean, laminate cabinets can be a long-standing fixture in your home for years to come.

Things You'll Need

  • Dish soap
  • Clean cloths
  • White vinegar
  • Add a tablespoon of dish soap to a quart of warm water.

  • Dip a clean cloth into the soapy water and wring it out well.

  • Wipe down the cabinets with the cloth gently. Be sure to get both sides of the doors. If this is more than a quick wipe down, remove everything from the cabinets and wipe out the inside thoroughly.

  • Wipe the cabinets with a clean, damp cloth to remove any residual soap.

  • Use a dry cloth or towel to dry the cabinets.

  • Mix vinegar and water in equal parts in a spray bottle to remove grease stains. Spray the greasy area and allow it to sit for three to four minutes before wiping it away with a clean damp cloth.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not put anything back into the cabinet or close it up until it is completely dry to avoid mold issues.
