It doesn't matter whether you take a luxurious bath every night or you only use your bathtub for a quick shower; in either case, a clean bathtub makes the experience more enjoyable. Bath tubs tend to build up soap scum and other impurities quickly. Add bath or shower oils to the equation and you have a dangerously slippery mix. Plastic bathtubs are easy to take care of, and with a little daily management you will not have to use a lot of elbow grease.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sponge
  • Mild bathtub cleaner
  • Towel
  1. Step 1

Rinse the bathtub with clean water and then wipe it down with a towel after every use. This will help prevent the build-up of soap scum.

  2. Step 2

Spray a mild bathtub cleaner on the bathtub. Make sure you find a cleaner that is non-acidic or abrasive. Fantastic, Forumla 409 or plain white vinegar are good plastic bathtub cleaners.

  3. Step 3

Wipe down the bathtub with a sponge or old, soft cloth. Rub lightly on stubborn build up.

  4. Step 4

Rinse bathtub immediately. Avoid letting the cleaner soak into the bathtub.

Tips & Warnings
  • Spot test your cleaner before you use it. In an inconspicuous corner of your bathtub, apply a small amount of cleaner, wipe and rinse. Check to make sure the cleaner did not alter the color or gloss of your plastic bathtub.
