Things You'll Need:
- Himalayan salt, ground or course
- Food
- Salt grinder
-
Step 1
Purchase finely ground or coarse granulated Himalayan salt. Use the finely ground salt directly in any salt shaker and in any recipe. The taste is nearly identical to regular table salt, and you will not jeopardize the flavor or quality of any of your favorite foods or recipes.
-
Step 2
Grind coarse granulated salt in a salt grinder. The crystals are too large to be used for cooking unless they are ground or diluted in broth or water.
-
Step 3
Break up the crystals. Unlike table salt, Himalayan salt does not contain anti-clumping agents to allow it to flow smoothly out of a salt shaker. If it starts to clump, lightly rap the shaker or container against a surface until the clumps separate and the salt flows freely.
