How to Clean a Corningware Coffee Pot

Corningware is known to manufacture some of the most durable, longest-lasting coffee pots. The Corningware coffee pot consists of five main components which should be cleaned after each use. Cleaning a Corningware coffee pot after each use will enable you to enjoy a better-tasting, fresh cup of coffee. Proper care of your coffee pot through regular cleaning is a simple process that does not require any special skills.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Diswashing soap
  • Water
  • Dry, clean towel
  • Sponge
  • Bowl
  1. Step 1

    Unplug your Corningware coffee pot to ensure that it is safe to clean.

  2. Step 2

    Fill a bowl with hot water and mix in 1 tbsp. of dishwashing soap.

  3. Step 3

    Remove the lid and filter components of your Corningware coffee pot. No tools are necessary to remove the components. They will detach by lifting up.

  4. Step 4

    Ensure that any spent coffee grounds are thrown into the waste bin.

  5. Step 5

    Place all of the Corningware coffee pot components, except for the pot itself, into the bowl containing the soapy water.

  6. Step 6

    Let the components soak in the hot soapy water for several minutes.

  7. Step 7

    Remove the components from the water.

  8. Step 8

    Using a clean, damp sponge, wipe down the components to ensure that all coffee ground remnants have been removed.

  9. Step 9

    Wipe off the exterior of the coffee pot. Use the sponge to wipe down the interior of the coffee pot.

  10. Step 10

    Rinse the coffee pot with clean, warm water.

  11. Step 11

    Dry the exterior of the coffee pot and the coffee filter components with a clean, dry towel. Your Corningware coffee pot is clean and ready for reuse.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you have a particularly tough stain on your coffee pot, you may add 1 tbsp. of laundry detergent to your hot soapy water mixture.
