Preparing for a party can be difficult and hectic. There are many issues to be taken care of from food and decorations to invitations. Fortunately, some of the menu can be taken care of ahead of time, limiting the preparations needed on the day of the event. Meatballs are an easy and popular party food that are easy to prepare before the party.
Things You'll Need
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper
- 2 lbs. ground beef
- Baking pans
- Freezer containers
Beat together two eggs. Mix in one cup of breadcrumbs, a quarter of a cup of finely chopped onions, one teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper to taste.
Add two lbs. of ground beef to the above mixture and mix well.
Shape the beef mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter. This recipe will make about 6 dozen meatballs. For a smaller party, halve or quarter the amount of ingredients.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake the meatballs on greased baking pans for 10 to 15 minutes, turning halfway through. Drain after baking and set aside to cool.
Store cooled meatballs in freezer containers and store in the freezer for up to three months.
Reheat the frozen meatballs before the party by cooking them on an ungreased baking pan for about 20 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit or until heated through. If you are serving the meatballs in a sauce, reheat them in a saucepan with the sauce until cooked through.
