Instructions

    • 1

Sand the area with the chip until the area is smooth and any rust which may be on the porcelain is gone. Dry the area completely and throughly.

    • 2

Cover the chip with the resin filler (available at a home-improvement store). Apply the resin to the chip with the paint brush. Let the resin dry for a half hour.

    • 3

Repeat this process until the resin has built up enough that it is even with the surrounding tub.

    • 4

Dip a cotton swab in the solvent and spread the resin out from the chip to the tub until the finishes have been blended together.

    • 5

Paint the area with the chip with the oil-based paint to mask the chip area. Let the paint and resin completely dry for 24 hours before using the tub.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure your work area is well ventilated. Open up all doors and windows and turn on any fans in the bathroom. Try to keep the coats of paint light. This will allow you to easily fix any mistakes you make.

  • Only work in the area that the chip is in or you may risk chipping other parts of the tub.
